San Pedro will see 311 trees planted in a bid to expand its green space, according to deputy mayor, Javier Garcia.

Species’ suitability for individual areas will be studied, as well as those areas that have lower densities of trees.
The second part of the plan will be to implement the findings of the report, including to replant 278 trees that are diseased or dangerous.
Planned trees – some which already exist in San Pedro – include: Canariensis palm (two), datilifera palm (two), orange trees (32), Tipuanas (23), melias (seven), blackberries without fruit (six), almez (124), cypresses (23), Ligustrum (22), Cuban royal palm (six) and coconut palm (two).
Work, including pruning and cleaning, will begin on Monday and is expected to last six weeks across several areas of the town.

Bartolome, Calle Amor, Calle Calderon, Plaza Santa Gema, Calle Doctor Eduardo Evangelista, Calle Camino del Cortijo, Calle Guadalajara, Calle Vega del Mar, Calle Castilla, Calle Fuente Nueva, Calle Santa Beatriz, Avenida Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Calle Jorge Guillen, Avenida de la Constitucion, calle del Pilar, parque El Arquillo, Plaza de la Iglesia, Calle Santa Elena and Calle Marques de Estella.
